You need to help Zoetica Ebb Art up the World →
Ms. Ebb has a kickstarter to bring the awesomeness of art to Peruvian Children, and it is an awesome thing to have more artists in the world.
Go!
Oh. Hi!
I have been working on some new photos. They should see light this weekend, so stay tuned!

Home Again, processing and decompressing.
Returned home directly after waking up Sunday, to shorten the weekend and get prepared for a new shift. (Whee 4am!) You should see pictures from Faerie Festival here and at my Facebook Fan Page tonight, and Steampunk World’s Fair later this week.
Steampunk world's fair. (day 2.5)
Mostly back on track right now. Back at the hotel to recharge and rest. (was so pissed off I didn’t sleep well.) I am working on not letting my time be affected, thus food and nap time and a day of solo work. I need to add a flash rig to my kit. Would make interior shots a hell of a lot easier. Also need to check manual ISO….
Steampunk World's Fair day 1
It has been a bit rough at the outset. As far as I can tell, the con, the hotel, and the county government all have different ideas about space use. A minor problem for most just visiting, a bit worse for those wanting to attend specific thing, and a complete mess for anyone doing content at the con. I have learned my lesson about riding with others to these events, (again) and need to just self...

Print sale to keep the light of knowledge burning!
I meant this to be out last night, but between the heat and the complications of heat and computers, failed utterly. But that means I get to see if delayed posting works. Click Through and you will be taken to my site, where you can purchase these via Paypal or Credit Card (Tumblr does not allow forms, weird CSS or extra crap that makes places like LJ a Pain in some cases.) If you are wondering...

Last summer I was trying to ensure that I had enough loan capacity to make it to my graduation date, I even took a half quarter off to ensure that the financial aid office could do the math with the academic advisors and verify. After a week I was told that yes, you will definitely make it.
They were either a) wrong, b) lying, or c) didn’t do the work.
On Thursday, I was informed that the funds...

Christmas Morning, 2010
Over the last few months, I have watched the inevitable build up to this morning and the weeklong stagger that brings us to our New Year. I keep finding it inferred that as a Non-Christian, I should be offended by the thought of Christmas (or Hanukkah /Kwanza since I am neither Jewish nor Black (but to a far lesser effect, for obvious reasons)) and what it “stands for”. What actually makes me feel...
A word about my recent general hermitage.
I know a non zero number of you are out there wondering where the hell I am. I have been more or less intentionally IM less and on a short Web leash for several weeks. Well, I’m busy. I don’t really feel like talking, and while I putter a bit here and there, I am still wrapping up the backend stuff on Haunting Alexandria, trying to get back into the groove with work and school, and...

Haunting Alexandria on Sale Now! (Marked down to... →
Haunting Alexandria.
Just over a year ago, (November 18th, actually,) I exhorted folks to get up and Make Something. One year later, it is time to put up or shut up.
That said, I bring you *Haunting Alexandria *. I can best describe it as a photocentric 32pp glossy magazine that ties into web content (in the process of being uploaded) that elaborates for inquiring minds. At US$8 I think it is a bargain for folks who...

Today is Indigenous People’s Day. I proudly stand up with and for those people who today continue to be oppressed and taken advantage of. The poverty rate of Native Americans nationally is 25%, and on some reservations the unemployment rate is 69% or more. Utility companies still continue to…

Across a run, a Cemetery Sits, groomed for the living.
Of course it IS all down hill from here.
This next one is kind of tough on the owners. Dogs on leash is easy, but remembering to bathe before arriving can be tough!

Tumblr has made this far too easy.
Enabled Disqus comments. Guess I’m not likely to head back to LJ Land or Dreamwidth.
Tumblr rocks my socks.

Sorry for the triple post
I got antsy so I resent a post by email post, then post it manually. I guess I was a bit impatient.
More patience in the future. Certainly.

Dogging Around
I guess it is time for a dog update, as my relatives have been asking after Sarah, who was inherited from my Grandfather.
We took the camera out to the local dog park and let Sarah do what she does best, burn off energy.

Booze and Fruit
I have probably lost my marbles and gone around the bend. I have been long interested in making my own flavored liquor for personal consumption and sharing. The New York Times ran an article on “Boozy Fruit” and it finally prompted me to get off my butt and make some. While I don’t have a traditional rumtopf, I managed to get a roughly 1:1 mixture into pint and quart jars and...
"Lunchtime" Wanderings cont'd

"Lunchtime" Wanderings.
My ‘lunch’ comes about 10PM, so I usually don’t get to do much with it other than eat and hang around the office. In light of the fact I spent the 3 previous days bedridden, I decided to get out and walk a bit for my lunch. Oh, I took the camera, too.
I wandered over to the Federal Courthouse and met up with Lady Justice. I tried a couple of different settings and found two I...

Midnight Wanderings
I wandered home playing in the light and shadow. There are some interesting light sculptures around the Patent and Trade Office in Alexandria, VA. They appear to be mundane fountains and landscaping objects during the day only to blossom at night. See and download the full gallery on posterous

Midnight on the way home.
Been trying for months to get a shot of this. I wish I had gotten off my behind sooner while there were way more leaves on the trees, the last few weeks have been hard on the trees, with the high temperatures.
Maryland Faerie Festival 2010
I really wanted to have more usable pics out of this bunch, but the spring light is horribly harsh, I prefer the trees to be fully fleshed out and the sun a bit more gentle. (I suspect Autumn is my season, really.) I dislike shooting mornings and early afternoon in open spaces, since the sun is incredibly harsh. I guess I could start futzing with filters or experimenting with the aperture and...
This is a post (about a sign)
A post about a sign, this little guy’s sign in particular. Taken at the 2010 Maryland Faerie Festival. (http://www.marylandfaeriefestival.org/) It was a fun event, and he seemed to do well with the kids.

So. I went and added yet another internet social thingy to my pile of stuff I watch but rarely implement. Who should I be watching on Tumblr? Posted via email from henryposts’s posterous | Comment »
